About Us

If you have an interest in gardens, gardening and history, you will be amongst friends! We hope that you will find our meetings and talks interesting and engaging and we always welcome new members.

Venue:

Our talks are held on Friday evenings at 7.30 pm and are held at The Strutt Centre, Derby Road, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 1UU

There is plenty of parking at the venue which is close to the centre of Belper. Details of the meeting room number are usually listed on a board inside the main entrance, and we try to book a downstairs room whenever possible to aid accessibility for guests with mobility issues. Meetings start at 7.30pm (except AGM which starts earlier).

Please note that due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, all planned talks and visits for 2020 have been cancelled or postponed until 2021. HOWEVER,  we are delighted to inform you that we are now starting to arrange talks via Zoom, and our first one is scheduled for:

FRIDAY 30th OCTOBER at 19:30

Speaker: Elizabeth Gowing on the subject of  “125 000 flowers – what it takes to make a spoon of honey”

If you are not already a member of DHGT and would like to join the meeting please contact either Elizabeth Walker or Caroline Pollard (details on Contact Us page). All are welcome!

Existing members who are able to participate will be sent a link to join, closer to the date.
